Yea! I finally finished the Harvard Classics "five-foot shelf of books", 50 volumes, 22,000 pages, in 14 months! Hurray for checking off bucket list items!

just read "Discourse on the Method of Rightly Conducting the Reason and Seeking the Truth in the Sciences" by Rene Decartes...very insightful and enjoyable reading...do not let the title deceive you...the author does a great job of expressing his ideas in such a way as to be understood with some effort.

loving " Elevation of the Laboring Classes" by William Ellery Channing...so quotable and invigorating..."To govern oneself, not others, is true glory. To serve through love, not to rule, is Christian greatness."...:) good stuff

Has anyone read the Stieg Larsson books, "The Girl With..."? Heard a story about them and how popular they've been and, of course I hadn't heard anything about them.

Wow Gabrielle, i am impressed! Book 25?!? The Harvard Classics sounds fascinating!

I've been re-reading C.S. Lewis lately. He's my absolute favorite next to Jane Austen. I seem to be drawn to authors across the big pond. Actually now that i think about it, the same goes for music as well. Hmmm....

Furniture

We are looking to donate our living room furniture and are wondering if anyone knows of a family in need or a ministry that could use them. Thanks for any helpful info!
